The effect of cyclosporine concentration on the labeling efficiency of an in vitro technetium-99m red blood cell labeling procedure.

چکیده
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine if the presence of cyclosporine A (CsA) in whole-blood samples decreased labeling efficiency when an in vitro red blood cell labeling procedure is used. Methods: Red blood cells were labeled by an in vitro method which required sodium pertechnetate, disodium edetate (EDTA), stannous chloride and stopper down centrifugation. Labeling efficiencies were calculated and plotted. Results: When 2 J.Lg of stannous ion was used to label RBCs, no significant change in labeling efficiency was observed with different concentrations of CsA. Upon increasing the concentration of stannous ion per sample, no improvement in labeling efficiency was observed. Conclusion: Cyclosporine levels in the blood do not affect the labeling of red blood cells if 2 J.Lg of stannous ion per milliliter of patient whole blood are used. Quality RBC labeling with sodium pertechnetate is possible even when patients have high cyclosporine blood levels.

Improved Modification for In Vitro Labeling of Red Blood Cells with Technetium-99m
We have tested a modification of the Brookhaven method for in vitro labeling of red blood cells (RBCs) with technetium-99m by adding an initial centrifugation step and performing the labeling on packed RBCs. This results in reproducible, high labeling efficiencies (99.3% ± 0.4%, n =50) after 15 min of incubation. The use of packed RBCs also results in a higher concentration of labeled RBCs (sma...

The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the possible interference of a Nectandra membranacea extract (i) on the labeling of blood cells (BC), (ii) on the labeling process of BC and plasma (P) proteins with technetium-99m (Tc-99m) and (iii) on the morphology of red blood cells (RBC). Blood samples were incubated with a Nectandra membranacea crude extract, stannous chloride, Tc99m (sodium ...
متن کامل99mTc Direct radiolabeling of PR81, a new anti-MUC1 monoclonal antibody for radioimmunoscintigraphy
Introduction: Monoclonal antibodies labeled mainly with 99mTc are being widely used as imaging agents in nuclear medicine. Recently PR81 was introduced as a new murine anti-MUC1 MAb against human breast carcinoma. This antibody reacts with the tandem repeat of 20-mer peptide of protein backbone, and is of IgG1 class, with an affinity of 2.19×10-8 M-1. Due to high sp...

OBJECTIVE Technetium-99m-labeled RBCs are used to evaluate ventricular function and are the preferred method for monitoring the cardiac function of patients receiving chemotherapy. Optimal imaging quality is critical for monitoring small but important changes in ventricular function. The labeling efficiency of three products from two manufacturers and images from 30 patients (21 men, 9 women; a...
متن کاملThe labeling of platelet with Tc-99m and In-111 [Persian]
We separated platelets from whole blood and incorporated them into In-Ill and Te-99m agents. Sn-GHA, Tropolone, Oxine (sulphate) and HMPAO were used to diffuse radionuclides into the platelets. The effects of time, temperature, PH of incubation media; volume and concentration of ionophore; and volume and activity of ln-l 13m C13 and Te-99m on labeling efficiency were studied.
